After frequent admissions to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, this mum of four discovered how unbelievably difficult spending time in hospital with a sick child can be.
During her stays, she noticed how sometimes the smallest things made the biggest difference. This was the catalyst for Josie creating Ward Angels.
Josie's passion for helping sick children has seen Ward Angels grow from a small group, helping one ward within The Children's Hospital at Westmead to a community organization with thousands of members, helping hospitals all over New South Wales.
Her work has been recognized by the Fundraising Institute of Australia as the 2022 NSW volunteer of the year award winner, as well as a finalist for the Blackmore's woman of the year awards.
